POSITION TITLE: PAYROLL SPECIALIST

REPORTS TO: Payroll Manager

FLSA: Non-Exempt/Hourly

PURPOSE OF THE POSTION: This position has the primary responsibility of performing all activities necessary to process payroll, including maintaining related record, filing tax reports, processing voluntary and involuntary deductions, and preparing special reports for management.

-Review clock-in and clock-out information for employees.
-Ensure employees are clocking in with the right department and job code.
-Maintain the employee roster and fill out termination forms in a timely manner.
-Ensure timely delivery of reports, records, etc.
-Maintain confidentiality of records and employee circumstances.
-Communicates via written, verbal, face-to-face, telephone and computer methods.
-Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY:

REQUIRED SKILLS:

-Bilingual in English/Spanish required.
-Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
-Action oriented with a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
-Work independently in the absence of supervision and efficiently carry out assignments.
-Solid proficiency in modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment; and applicable software applications.
-Ability to work in a shared office space, as well as warehouse production facility as needed to perform duties.
-Strong verbal/written communication skills – both English and Spanish.
-Agricultural and/or office experience preferred.
-Three (3) to five (5) years of payroll experience preferred.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:

-High School diploma or GED required.
-Associate degree or equivalent training and education preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position requires sitting, standing, and walking, potentially for long periods of time, as required by the task. A large share of work is completed using standard computer/office equipment. Occasional lifting related to role of up to 25 pounds.

May require occasional and seasonal overtime.
