Job Description:
Directly Responsible To: The Director of Technology

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in Information Technology or a closely related field.
Three years of current relational experience is required.
Ability to understand and apply modern methodology in the areas of enterprise technology operations.
Ability to balance the goals of an operational unit and the enterprise's broader interests, specifically, Teaching
and Learning and the District’s Strategic Plan.
Ability to work with others, including central office staff, school principals, and district technical staff, to
create outcomes, expectations, and directions that are tangible and compelling.
Ability to manage and direct team dynamics toward high-impact creativity, productivity, and effectiveness.
Adept at differentiating between symptom solving and root cause analysis. Establish and refine response and
problem resolution measurements based on service level objectives.
Effective interpersonal and analytical skills.
Ability to plan, implement, and oversee departmental training and professional development.
Proficiency in productivity suite tools in support of job duties.
Experience supervising technical teams and project management is required.
Experience working with a help desk system is required.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
An established record of dependability, flexibility, and regular attendance.

Primary Function: This position supervises, coordinates, trains, and assists in evaluating employees in the
Technology Department of the Yakima School District. The Computer Services Supervisor will provide direction to
employees with the authority to assign, organize, monitor work and make recommendations and/or implement
disciplinary actions consistent with the collective bargaining agreement(s).

Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision, following standardized practices and methods,
providing information and advising others, and operating within a defined budget. An understanding of departmental collaboration and using resources from other work units is required to perform the job's functions.

Strong skills centering in: collaboration, organization, communication, computer/technology literacy, public
relations, conflict de-escalation, and an enthusiasm for customer support will be essential to meeting the expected outcomes.

Other Functions and Responsibilities:
Manage incidents and service requests to organize workload and ensure alignment of work priorities with
district priorities. Analyze the critical nature of various requests and assign resources and personnel as needed
to maintain successful outcomes.
Manage district and departmental projects, and the staff assigned to those projects. Including but not limited to 1:1 student checkout, inventory as it relates to Computer Services, ongoing procurement, and maintenance of
03/2022 technology in the district, including software, hardware, and system management appliance considerations related to replacement and upgrade cycles.
Schedule and supervise technical support staff, including technicians supporting multiple technologies
(computers, thin clients, audio/visual, interactive whiteboards, interactive and standard projectors, printers,
etc.).
Oversee departmental documentation and training materials for common tools.
Oversee support for online assessments to ensure devices and support personnel are available and optimized
based on testing schedules.
Assist the Technology Director with various tasks, preparation of data and reports, creating policies and
procedures, and disseminating pertinent information to district users.
Work with the Technology Director, Network Service Supervisor, and Information Services Supervisor to
assist in creating departmental vision and goals.
Work with Instructional Technology Facilitators to understand district technology standards and align
Computer Services outcomes to support district standards.
Evaluate and respond to special requests for technology and/or support.
Assist other personnel in the completion of their work activities.
Attend meetings or training to convey and/or gather information to inform decisions or outcomes.
Other duties as assigned.

Expectation for Continued Employment:
Employment is contingent upon passing the Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation
Criminal Background Check.
Maintain punctuality and regular attendance- a consistent presence at the assigned work site and regular work
hours.
Comply with all District policies and operational procedures.
Comply with the Code of Professional Conduct.
Maintain certification at all times.
Complete SafeSchool’s online training in accordance with the Yakima School District.
Obtain a CPR and First Aid Card if needed
