Summary of Responsibilities:
The Medical Assistant or LPN provides direct patient care within scope of their certification while assisting the providers as needed.
●Prepares patients for examination and treatment.
●Take patient histories and vital signs.
●Document information accurately using appropriate forms and charting format in health care information record.
●Perform intake procedures and assist providers with patients.
●Prepares and maintains patient exam rooms, ensuring that appropriate supplies are in the room and all necessary equipment is present & sterilized.
●Cleans rooms between patient visits to maintain infection control.
●Anticipates providers needs and manages providers requests.
●Prepare and assist w/minor surgical procedures.
●Apply dressings and remove staples/stiches as requested.
●Prepare & administer injections/vaccines.
●Collect blood and other laboratory specimens through routine in-house testing procedures.
●Assist with patient follow-up activities, including referrals, testing and other patient needs.
●Perform drug screen/BAT collections as needed.
●Assist with after-hours drug screen/BAT collections.
●Assist with answering phones.
●Assist with scheduling.
●Maintain patient confidentiality.
●Work closely with other team members and support the clinic with other needs as identified by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Certification as a Medical Assistant or LPN in the state of Washington
Experience with EMR (electronic medical records)
Previous experience as Medical Assistant or LPN preferred
Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
Maintain BLS/CPR Certification
The Healthy Worker has a compulsory vaccination policy including the COVID-19 primary series, the organization doesn’t mandate the COVID-19 booster although it is offered and recommended. Medical and religious exemptions to the primary series will be considered and those approved, the employee should anticipate following appropriate guidance around masking and other protective equipment offered.
