Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The position requires a professional with knowledge regarding concepts, theories, standards, practices and procedures across BAF products and processes with an emphasis in controls engineering. The incumbent should be familiar with control software and hardware on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), HMI’s, and Personal Computers (PCs), and other computer-controlled process control devices.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Support projects and key initiatives in a timely manner to successfully achieve project goals. Effectively communicate project statuses to the project team and the appropriate shareholders.
2. Work with other members of the controls team on controls systems programming, simulation and testing, and start-up. Includes measurement, MCC, control and network devices.
3. Ability to read wiring schematic and validate control panel layouts. Able to troubleshoot AC ciruits, DC circuits and network wiring.
4. Able to modify and/or maintain programs in PLCs and HMIs, coordinating with Process Engineers, Project Engineers, Design Engineers, Information Technology staff, as well as Production and Maintenance personnel.
5. Help develop effective control systems documentation by following guidelines, reviewing documentation, and recommending improvements.
6. A thorough understanding and follow BAF’s electrical, mechanical, and production processes standards. Will follow all local, state and national safety standards.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation and Controls degree
