POSITION SUMMARY:
The Network Systems Manager provides operational and technical leadership over the Enterprise Infrastructure Team to ensure the ongoing stability of a district applications, servers and network environments. In this role, you will be the team lead of Infrastructure team who are responsible for supporting core district applications, an infrastructure of 150+ physical and virtual servers and network equipment across 42 remote sites. The Network Systems Manager is the focal point for all operational and hosted services for our district of 22,000scholars and 3,000 staff members while providing excellent customer service, project management and timely issue resolution. This working manager position serves within the goals, objectives, and expectations set by ITS leadership.

Supervise & evaluate staff members in the Enterprise Infrastructure Team (qty 5)
Oversee the installation, maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of all FWPS local and wide area network, wired, wireless and server infrastructure.
Coordinate regular maintenance as required to hardware and software systems to maintain maximum system uptime.
Coordinate daily ticket assignments and metrics
Monitor and ensure system backups are completed per site schedules, perform data restoration and disaster recovery using backup appliances.
Manage web content filtering, district cloud resources (Azure, Office365 & G Suite for Education) and multiple district approved software and application platforms.
Manage district phone system and communication systems (Zoom Phone and Conference platform
Coordinate with inter-department teams, district departments and outside vendors for project planning, support and system enhancements.
Help develop short and long-range plans in relation to the District’s enterprise systems for the purpose of ensuring organizational objectives are achieved in the most efficient and timely manner through project management framework.
Provide detailed technical expertise in the diagnosis and resolution of systems related problems.
Participate in ITS leadership meetings and provide regular status reports to CTO for system performance and capacity measurement metrics.
Provide support for critical systems during and outside of normal business hours when required.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in and successfully complete self-study as well as formal training classes as assigned.
Use acquired knowledge to influence and improve IT practices and technologies.
Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols (SOPs & Atlassian Confluence).
Equipment, software and product research and recommendations.
Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer science or management information systems (Substitution for BA: Certification in CompTIA IT Fundametals, CompTia A+, CompTIA Network+, Comp TIA Servier+)
Six (6) years of hands-on work-related experience in a server environment with multiple locations, including cloud services, system administration, troubleshooting, security, storage, virtualization, backups, installation and upgrades.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Evidence of outstanding customer service skills
Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and to manage large scope and high-volume projects and have good organizing, coordinating and prioritizing skills
Maintain cultural awareness and sensitivity to work corporately and collaboratively with staff, parents and the public and demonstrated outstanding communication skills in a variety of situations with a diverse community of customers
Must have specific vision abilities required by this position including; close vision, color vision, distant vision, and peripheral vision

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstration of supportive team leadership in supervisory position.
Degree in computer science or related field and/or industry certifications.
Experience with HPE/Aruba switches, Aruba Wireless Networks, VMware ESX, Palo Alto Firewall and/or Zoom Phone Platform.
Understanding of current K-12 educational and administrative practices as they relate to, and are supported by application and server technologies.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
Valid Washington State driver’s license
Must have access to a vehicle for local travel within the District
Work scheduled hours on a consistent basis

KNOWLEDGE OF:
Infrastructure planning and analytical troubleshooting

Networking principles, configuration, troubleshooting and installation

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly stand and walk, bend neck and back, use hands for repetitive grasping and pushing/pulling. The employee may occasionally be required to squat, kneel, and use hands for fine manipulation, climb stairs/ladder, lift and reach overhead, and lift/carry. The employee must constantly lift/carry up to 10 pounds and must frequently lift /carry up to 25 pounds. The employee will occasionally lift/carry a maximum of 35 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull a maximum weight of 400 pounds.

WORK SCHEDULE
This is a twelve (12) month, 260 day a year position. Some evening work may be required.

LEVEL OF COMPENSATION
Manager II Level on the Non-represented Salary Schedule. This position includes the following benefits prorated based on FTE – Medical, dental vision; sick and vacation leave; life insurance; retirement; vacation cash out and Veba for eligible sick leave cash out
