JOB SUMMARY

The Functional Check-Out (FCO) Technician is responsible for performing calibrations and final tests to ensure fabrication and construction deliverables are constructed, tested, and documented for startup. This position has a thorough knowledge of programmable logic controller (PLC), distributed control systems (DCS), ladder logic, pneumatics, and hydraulics.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Calibrate and adjust instruments and test equipment in accordance with Company procedures, equipment data sheets, and customer specifications.
Review and analyze piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), loop and ladder drawings, and applicable discipline drawings.
Perform instrumentation and electrical loop checks.
Perform final functional tests in coordination with the customer’s facility technician.
Provide performance feedback to engineering and maintenance.
Create documentation of device/system installation such as operational data, maintenance records, and warranty records.
Control and maintain all FCO documentation and folders.
Ensure all required turnover documentation and forms are complete and contain the required data and signatures.
Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Minimum of five (5) years related training and experience.
Possess or in the process of obtaining a NICET Level 1 and Level 2 for Fire Alarm Systems.
Valid Driver’s License.
North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with commissioning, testing, or maintaining industrial systems or equipment in the Arctic oil and gas industry preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:



Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.
Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.
Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam
Required to complete and successfully pass a background check.
Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.


The availability of this position is contingent upon the Company’s continued operational needs once training is completed.
