Position Title: Network Administrator

Description: The Network Administrator’s role is to maintain, document and support the districts network. That includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all network equipment while also
ensuring optimal network and workstation performance. This person will troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion to ensure a reliable and optimal network for end users. A candidate for
this position would be a highly qualified, detail-oriented individual that is resourceful in completing and documenting projects. A team-oriented worker with a positive work ethic.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Science, or similar field or possession of a Network administration Certificate is preferred.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum of High school diploma and/or 7 years' work experience as a network specialist with experience in system configurations, setup, troubleshooting, planning, designing, implementation, and user support.
Must have experience installing and maintaining Microsoft Windows Servers and desktop/laptop computers; Microsoft Exchange; HP/Aruba Switches; Azure AD
Extensive knowledge of network connectivity, technologies, protocols and security. Sound understanding of network software and hardware.
Must be familiar with network troubleshooting in a switched environment. HP/Aruba switches and Hyper-V client/server.
Complete working knowledge of Active Directory and Azure AD
Work completely and accurately under time constraints and deadlines
Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects
Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
Ability and willingness to work additional or flexible hours during the week and/or weekend if required.
Keen attention to detail and a highly self-motivated learner
Must have own transportation with valid Washington State Driver’s License
Must qualify to work in the proximity of children under the conditions of a WSP/FBI background check.

Reports To: Technology Director
Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
Oversees the day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support, training, and special projects.
Evaluate the network’s performance and collaborate with the IT Team to increase the network’s capacity.
Second to the Technology Director this position will be responsible for decision making in the absence of the Technology Director.
Enhancing network security and documenting network processes and cabling layouts
Managing Facility Systems to include but not limited to, building intercoms, cameras, access control,
telecommunications, HVAC.
Coordinate IT staff for the help desk support.
Configuring and installing district network hardware and software to include but is not limited to, servers, routers, switches, cameras, access control, and other peripheral devices.
Will be responsible for maintaining district backups for servers and cloud applications.
Implement, document, and maintain a district network disaster recovery plan.
Coordinates and implements a network security program to ensure the integrity of the districts internal network and its resources. This will include, but not be limited to, virus protection, firewall or other protection from external threats, security for all district devices, internal IP subnets and routing, a secure password list of administrative passwords for all servers, workstations, and network devices, network monitoring, data backup, and user accounts.
Monitor and maintain the updating of all hardware and software for network equipment.
Assists in establishing and maintaining user e-mail accounts; provides e-mail training and software support; provides e-mail documentation; manages anti-spam and anti-virus servers.
Maintaining all documentation for WAN/LAN and connected systems
Other duties as assigned by the Technology Director
