FOUNDATION SPECIALIST
This is a full-time hourly position in the Foundation Department. This position will report to the Foundation Director.

The Foundation Specialist will assist the Foundation Director with fundraising and administrative duties. The ability to interact with staff, faculty, students, community members, and donors in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, and efficient is crucial to this role. Concise and accurate written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail are equally important. High integrity is vital to this position.



WORKING CONDITIONS:

Duties are performed in a business office environment, at off-campus events, at outside businesses and networking opportunities. Weekly local travel is required. Occasional lifting of items up to 25 lbs. may be required. Standing or sitting for long periods.



This is a non-exempt, full-time position. Normal schedule is Monday-Thursday, but position requires flexibility in working hours as the schedule will include some weekend and/or evening hours. Overtime may be required as necessary. Good attendance and punctuality are important. Working effectively and collaboratively in a team environment is a must. Overall job scope will require effective communication, presentation skills, and strategic planning for marketing objectives and events. A high level of interaction with the public and agencies for the purpose of development and maintenance of partnerships and awareness. Exceptional in-office organization and multi-tasking abilities are essential.



WAGE RANGE: $22.00-$24.00 per hour

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate degree or certificate of completion from an accredited career college; or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
Must have one year + experience with fundraising, sales, or marketing.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products and the ability to use computerized database programs.
Previous experience performing basic office tasks, including but not limited to mailing, emailing, faxing, working with multi-line phone system, photocopying, scanning, and filing.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Ability to present material in a clear, professional manner.
Will be required to drive on behalf of Perry Technical Institute. Employee must possess a working vehicle, hold a valid driver’s license, have an acceptable driving record, and produce proof of insurance.
Must be willing to consent to a drug test.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals of different backgrounds.
Customer service experience.
Experience maintaining a high level of confidentiality with all interactions.
Demonstrated aptitude or ability to make cold calls to potential partners.
Digital and social media marketing experience.
Experience using phone, email, postal mail and digital mail communication systems for sales and marketing purposes.
Experience with cash handling and reconciliation of payments. Use of merchant credit card machine.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Accomplish tasks in a timely manner with outstanding attention to detail.
Create and maintain documents utilizing Microsoft Office programs.
Maintain files, documents, and reports in a manner that allows for quick retrieval.
Act as main point of contact for fundraising events and activities.
Generate awareness for fundraising activities through the distribution of marketing materials and solicitations.
Develop and maintain partnerships between Perry Technical Institute and local organizations.
Collaborate with Foundation team to coordinate and execute the bi-annual foundation scholarship.
Monitor, distribute, and promote scholarship information. Assist students as needed.
Promote volunteer opportunities, recruit, and provide training.
Maintain PTI website with scholarship opportunities.
Produce campaigns in Mailchimp for scholarship communication and to promote PTI events.
Raffle duties include and are not limited to working with vendors, volunteers, record keeping, and sales reconciliation with a high level of accuracy.
Establish monthly fundraising goals and activities with measurable results.
Reply to community inquiries regarding Foundation activities, events, and fundraisers.
Assist with donation entry, tracking, and reporting as needed.
Manage internal database for foundation donors, contacts, and leads for the purpose of greater communication.
Attend and support events as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
