We are currently offering a hiring/retention bonus of $1500 to be paid out in 3 installments over 12 months!

Weyerhaeuser’s Montana Wood Products is currently looking for an Industrial Electrical Instrumentation Technician to join our Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) manufacturing facility in Columbia Falls, MT. A qualified candidate would have a thorough comprehensive knowledge of electrical equipment, processes and techniques to safely repair, modify, install and maintain the facility and high-tech manufacturing equipment.

Key Functions:
Update and maintain instrument database on tag-by-tag basis to include instrument parameters, calibration history, and maintenance intervals
Follow plant policies and repair procedures along with insurer recommendations for removing, repairing, adjusting, and replacing components
Diagnose critical instruments per area and develop an accurate PM schedule based on asset criticality and insurer recommendations
Maintain Instrument shop spare parts inventory
Develop written instrument calibration procedures and standards
Respond and assist with emergency calls
Provide hands on training with electrical department
Update Field labeling and maintenance PM database (SAP) to include accurate device tag and channel information
Work with a team of electricians and millwrights to deliver preventative and routine maintenance
Assist other skilled workers in repairs and projects which may include bringing necessary tools and parts to the area they are needed
Design layout and installation of basic electrical controls.
Basic Industrial Electrical Construction based on NFPA 70 National Electric Code. This includes ability to layout, cut, bend and thread conduit and ability to size conductors and over current devices
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in E.E.T. or equivalent education OR ISA Certified Control Technician OR minimum of five (5) years of experience in Industrial Electrical
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in instrument calibration and verification required
High School Diploma or GED required

Additional Skills:
The ability to inspect, test, calibrate, maintain and repair process instrumentation and control equipment
Strong knowledge of PLC programming, scaling, and loop calibrations
Good understanding of single ended, differential, and isolated wiring methods
Understand regulatory requirements (radiation, steam, etc.)
Safety practices necessary for the work.
Understanding of methods, practices and equipment used in maintaining, repairing, testing and adjusting electro-mechanical, pneumatic, electronic and other types of recording, control, and measuring instruments
Analog and digital system fault diagnostic techniques and procedures
Principles underlying the construction and use of scientific instruments
Principles underlying the construction and use of chemistry and physics
ISA standards
Read and interpret analog equipment schematics, analog system network diagrams, plans, blueprints, and electrical wiring diagrams
Read and interpret recording charts, gauges, and other instruments
Learn the operation of special purpose scientific measuring devices and correct malfunctions and sources of error
