Summary

Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Human Resources Assistant. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment.

Duty Location: The final determination of the duty station for this position will be made by the selecting official at the time of the job offer.

Salary listed is the base salary. Actual salary will depend on the location of the selectee.

Duties

Processes a wide range of personnel actions for an assigned segment of the organization. Codes personnel action data for input Into the Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS).
Drafts recurring and new vacancy announcements; advising and assisting in constructing Job Analysis and coordinating in recruitment actions involved.
Conducts orientation for new hires, transfers, and reassignments; answers basic employee questions related to benefits and other HR requirements; and coordinates with HR and selecting officials on matters related to processing and recruitment.

Qualifications
In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the education and/or specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.

To qualify at the GS-07, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-06 level in federal service having demonstrated experience processing a full range of personnel actions using an automated Human Resources (HR) processing system. Experience providing information and advice on the use of an automated HR processing system or trouble shooting and proposing resolutions to problems in an HR automated processing system. Experience drafting vacancy announcements or experience providing technical support related to staffing work that may include updating vacancy case files, issuing certificates, closing case files ensuring records are completed and correct in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Applicants eligible under the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) are not required to meet time-in-grade restrictions in order to be considered.

Education

This position does not allow substituting education for experience.

You may be required to serve an initial probationary period.
