Electronics Assembler - Kirkland, WA

Job Description:
Nion is looking for an electronics assembler to help us build the best electron microscopes in the world. A major part of the responsibilities will include assembling electronics and cables for electron sources operating at up to 200 kV.

The job candidate must be able to read electronics drawings and have good mechanical skills and a commitment to quality workmanship and efficiency. Attention to detail, strict adherence to established protocols, an eagerness to improve the quality of the manufacturing process, and good communications skills are essential.

Duties and responsibilities:
Inspect quality of incoming parts.
Assemble, wire and solder electrical and mechanical components and PCBs.
Create documentation for assembly procedures.
Maintain good house-keeping of work area.
Assist production engineers with repairs and various assembly and testing tasks.
Requirements:
Technical degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
Assembly experience: desired.
Able to read, understand and follow detailed engineering drawings and process specifications.
Soldering skills for PVC / PTFE cable and Printed Circuit Board surface mount components.
Ability to work independently and ask for guidance when appropriate.
Ability to work well with others.
