Job Description:
Essential Tasks

•Provides courteous professional services and is cordial to internal and external customers and/or vendors; conduct oneself in a professional and businesslike manner to reflect the Yakama Nation Housing Authorities high standard of excellence; use of proper people skills when dealing with customers and employees.

•Reconciles General Ledger accounts for accuracy and maintains subsidy ledgers supporting general ledger accounts; research discrepancies and ensures correction are complete, collects information, and causes for incorrect balances submits recommendations for procedures to avoid future errors.
•Assists in planning, review, and preparation of monthly and annual budgets and/or budget projections.
•Assists management with supervision and oversight of support staff with overseeing accounting rules, guidelines and procedures and performs necessary functions for absent employees.

•Provides technical support and information to the Chief Finance Officer, internal and external auditors and assists with annual audit and financial schedules.

•Assists with the development and maintenance of all accounting records management and storage systems.

•Develops and implements spreadsheets or databases reports to support accounting. Assists with necessary tax returns and insurance reporting of the YNHA as required.

•Gathers and compiles information to be used by others, attends, or conducts staff meetings to exchange information; attends technical or professional classes, seminars, or conferences to improve technical and professional skills.

•Directly responsible for training, conducting or coordination of training of employees within area(s) of responsibility. Training to include job core skills training, teamwork, customer service, communications and all training required to be compliant with housing regulations.

•Directly responsible for the development of team member's competence and reduction of team member turnover to improve operating and administrative efficiencies.

•Must have a positive work history; responsible for maintaining a consistent and regular attendance record; must be able to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
