About the Position:
As the Maintenance Technician for the FTA, you will perform a variety of skilled labor in the operation, maintenance, repair, remodeling and construction of buildings, grounds, machinery, mechanical facilities, systems and equipment. You will work independently, under general direction, to utilize basic knowledge of several related skill fields such as plumbing, electrical, welding, carpentry and machinist work.

Duties
Primary Responsibilities:
Constructs and repairs fire training props including carpentry, steel fabrication and welding projects.
Performs preventative maintenance to all buildings including structural, mechanical, and electrical aspects.
Performs daily tasks to accommodate training, including system startup and shutdown, and snow removal.
Monitors fuel delivery systems, water delivery systems, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
Assists the Maintenance Supervisor in instructing and leading other lower level staff in field repairs and projects.
Recommends the purchase of supplies and equipment needed for normal business operations.
Completes and maintains records and reports as required.
Completes water sampling and testing.
Qualifications
Required:
High School diploma or GED equivalency.
Valid, unrestricted Washington state driver's license.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Four years of experience in mechanical repair work.
Two years operational knowledge of plumbing, equipment, and building maintenance.
Ability to perform physical activity/labor both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather.
Desired:
Experience working with fire equipment, including self contained breathing apparatus, bunker gear, and fire hydrant maintenance.
Knowledge and experience with operation of a snow plow.
Washington State Class B Commercial Drivers License
