Lonza Pharma & Biotech has an opening for an experienced Instrumentation and Electrical Technician at our Bend, OR location. As an Instrumentation and Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for the calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility and process instrumentation to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards. You’ll apply your knowledge to support GMP manufacturing and development in a fast paced and demanding work environment.

Key responsibilities:

Conducts calibration and troubleshooting of facility and process equipment with little to no supervision in compliance with appropriate regulations and GMP practices
Conduct and/or assist in repairs, perform preventative and corrective maintenance, complete investigations of failed calibration or maintenance events
Utilizes Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to schedule calibration and maintenance to update records and write measurement data templates and work instructions
Provide training to other technicians on calibrations, troubleshooting, and use of standards
Coordinates offsite calibration of equipment
Reviews instruments for criticality, appropriate interval and appropriate tolerance in line with the site Calibration program and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
Reviews and provides written feedback on calibration and maintenance procedures, forms and records
Provide regulatory and partner audit support
Attends all mandatory safety training, maintains a safe work environment by following LOTO (Lockout Tagout), National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA 70e) applicable procedures and all facility safety policies and procedures

Key requirements:

Technical, AA (Associate of Arts) or AS (Associate of Science) degree in metrology, instrumentation, electronics or related technical discipline. High school diploma/GED (General Education Diploma) with significant experience directly related to instrumentation/calibration experience will be considered.
Possess a high mathematical understanding, excellent reading skills, intermediate computer and typing skills are required
Work experience in an FDA (Food and Drug Administration), GMP or similar regulated environment is preferred
Experience with CMMS is highly desired
Must be able to interpret electrical schematics, input/output (I/O) wiring and panel drawings, utility, process system/equipment, plumbing, ductwork, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), and P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams)
Ability to work outside of established shift hours with short notice is required
Must be able to participate in On-Call rotations for after-hours facility and manufacturing support
Effective oral and written communication skills are essential - Constructively, courteously and professionally interact with peers and clients in manufacturing, maintenance, utility plans, analytical labs and contracted services
