Associate Welder

We are now recruiting a Associate Welder.

Welders setup fitments of components provided by fabrication according to specifications, ensuring all design requests and tolerances are met while referencing blueprints and drawings provided. Ensuring all components are properly prepared prior to weld in order to achieve the highest weld quality standards are met.

Essential Functions and Duties:

· Working towards completion in Permobil in-house weld training in either aluminium or titanium.

· Weld aluminium and/or titanium frames and parts according to instructions and training.

· Ability to show consistent improvement in welded quality parts; understanding of how to identify contamination, uniformity, tie-in issues, etc.

· Show consistent welding ability improvement.

· Works on assignments that are routine in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little to no role in decision-making.

· Maintain a clean and safe work area and awareness of surroundings.

· Work as a team and maintain professionalism at all levels in the organization.

· Follow direction, procedures, and instructions for all work assignments.

· Ability to read and understand computer aided design (CAD) files and 1:1 blueprints.

· Support all quality, safety, and environmental programs.

· Safely and proficiently operate tools and equipment needed to fabricate, weld, and assemble parts.

· Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.

· Must work overtime as assigned.

· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

· Duties and responsibilities may change from time to time.

Qualifications:

· Pass initial weld assessment.

· Team player.

· Reliable.

· Strong communication skills.

· Attention to detail.

· Self-starting ability.

· Ability to work with little to no supervision.

· Time management.

· Maintain regular and predictable attendance; report to work on time.



Level of Education or Experience in Lieu of:

· High school diploma or equivalent, vocational training and/or on-the-job training.

· Currently enrolled or completion of prior weld certification course (preferred).

· 0-3 years of experience.

Work Environment:

· Noise - frequent

· Dust - frequent

· Indoors - frequent

· Exhaust fumes – occasionally

· Outdoors – seldom

· Cold/heat - seldom

Physical Demands:

· Work in a weld bay 8 to 10+ hours

· Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods

· Ability to lift, push and pull 50 pounds

· Ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat, grasp, and work with tools above shoulder level
