Job Description:
The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing a range of administration tasks, with a great focus on medication assistance/observation. The Medical Assistant will be the point of contact between the patient and provide pharmacy, and onsite providers.



Qualifications:

Successful applicants will:



High School Diploma or GED required.
An associate of Science/Arts Degree desired.
Medical Assistant Certification required.
Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.

Medical Assistant Duties:



Observe patient self-administration of medication, in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
Keep track of patient's medication request refills when needed.
Document observations to the appropriate team members in a timely manner.
Documents patient’s vitals and blood glucose levels.
Maintains an effective and organized system to deliver quality patient care.
Serves as the primary contact between the patient any provider, pharmacy, and on-site provider.
Scheduling of medical appointments.
Assist in the admission of clients coming into treatment during the shift.
Observe and document the collection of samples for urinalysis drug testing.
Attend staff "pass down meeting" at shift change as required and participate appropriately.
Conduct medication audits in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
Ensures proper documentation is not missed or incomplete in patients' charts.
Collaborate with team to provide a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
Help transcribe provider evaluations.
Triage or screen patient prior to approaching a provider and provide needed information/documentation.
Assist patients with the completion of patients' daily task lists.
May at times transport patients to appointments and/or medication.
