Scope
The IT Support Technician is responsible for assisting the IT department in day-to-day tasks strongly focusing on support of end users. The IT Support Technician will be called upon to operate with flexibility, mixing between support of desktop, network, and basic software/programming services. The IT Support Technician will be exposed to enterprise level hardware, software solutions, IT groups and will be provided excellent opportunity acquiring and maintaining the skills needed to advance in an array of IT related tasks.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Installation and testing of end user workstations and peripherals including wireless handhelds used in the manufacturing environment
Conduct routine maintenance of devices and peripherals
Troubleshooting and maintenance of food processing equipment, computer systems and peripherals to ensure the ongoing usability of the equipment
Assist intercompany IT groups during testing and troubleshooting of issues
Acquire and maintain a basic understanding of the sites LAN setup/topology to troubleshoot network issues
Contribute to technical support documentation of processes and procedures
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Technical background
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Creative approach to technical problem solving
Self-starter and highly motivated
Basic experience in servicing desktop, laptop, phone, mobile device hardware and printers
Solid background with windows operating systems such as Windows 10 & 11.
Reliable transportation and ability to travel up to 100 miles on a given workday to support multiple sites
Ability to work in cold, wet and sometimes unusual areas and environments in a food processing facility
Must be available “on call” to handle multiple shift environments
Desirable Skills
Knowledge of DNS, DHCP and Active Directory
Programming experience with VBA or SQL
Fundamental understanding of networking connectivity issues
Basic server room infrastructure (wiring, racks, patch panels, switches, UPS)
Experience working with large datasets
Authority
This position does not supervise any personnel.
Physical Requirements
Temperatures can be extreme (hot or cold) depending on the season and the area of work.
Stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks.
Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard or calculator.
Communication skills using the spoken word.
Ability to see and hear within normal parameters.
Ability to lift at least 60 pounds.
