The focus of Hillsboro Technical Operations (HTO) is Drug Product manufacturing (Component Prep & Compounding, Liquid/Lyophilized Filling, Automated/Manual Inspection, Packaging/Finished Products and Distribution.)

Summary:

This position will work at HTO ES&T as the Instrumentation Maintenance Planner. They are responsible for achieving Planned, Predictable Performance for Facilities, Operations, and Maintenance. The incumbent will plan and coordinate routine and non-routine instrument calibrations, repairs, and facilities
activities under limited supervision. They will collaborate with the Scheduling group to ensure all production impacting maintenance activities are scheduled. The Instrumentation Planner will translate department maintenance strategies and work order requests into effective, detailed job plans for both
requested and repetitive work.

Responsibilities:

Perform job walks to ensure complete understanding of requested work and project support
Plan and coordinate routine and non-routine maintenance, repairs, and facilities activities
Translate work requests into detailed work plans / work orders that include technical information and materials, such as manuals, drawings and P&IDs, work and safety instructions, permits, and accurate estimates of craftspeople, equipment, tools, materials, parts and other required resources.
Partner with assigned work centers and Scheduling to ensure an efficient resource loaded schedule
Ensure the accuracy of repetitive job plans and routine calibrations in accordance with all approved business process documentation
Work with Service Contract Managers to provide needed information for the creation and maintenance of calibration service contracts
Obtain vendor quotes and submit work authorizations
Identify and partner with MRO Stores to order parts for non-repetitive work orders
Audit MRO Stores staging area on a regular basis to ensure jobs are executed as planned
Ensure that requested maintenance activities are in compliance with all Quality policies and procedures
Maintain CMMS data integrity and perform data corrections and updates to associated BOMs, task list BOMs, Functional Locations, Sort Fields, and Durations when required
Work with cost center managers to ensure budget requirements are met
Lead cross-functional teams as needed to support the Maintenance Shutdown and the Planning Team
Provide backfill as needed for various maintenance planning roles
Perform other duties as requested by Manager to support the Planning Team

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

Completion of an approved 2-year instrumentation or industrial Engineering curriculum at a technical school, or an AAIAS Degree in a related science or engineering major.
Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in instrumentation calibration and repair in a regulated industry systems.
Thorough knowledge of the fundamental operating principles of industrial process instrumentation systems.
Strong interpersonal skills are a must.
Proficiency in both oral and written communications is essential.
Experience with planning or coordinating maintenance activities and calibration activities in a manufacturing facility
Proficiency with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Calibration Management Program, preferably with SAP PM and Blue Mountain RAM
Experience with Excel, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Project
Experience in Business Process Management, Lean Production Systems, and Document Control

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Able to work on-site 100% while maintaining gowning access to do job walks in classified areas
Work overtime or temporarily modify shift schedule to support manufacturing operations as needed
Multi-task on several activities simultaneously in a fast paced environment
Work with minimal supervision
Identify training deficiencies and attend all required training ensuring 100% compliance
Read and interpret construction, engineering P&D, and schematic drawings
Use a wide variety of computer applications including Google Doc Applications, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Strong focus on client support
Excellent written and oral communication, leadership, customer service, technical, and organizational skills
Thorough knowledge of cGMP and GDP compliance
Expert knowledge of instrumentation maintenance, work order planning, and asset management Best Practices in a regulated environment
