Job Description:
The CA/Ammonia Refrigeration Specialist is responsible for safe and efficient operation, maintenance and repair of refrigeration systems. Ammonia refrigeration experience required.
***Position is located in Zillah, Washington.***
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Must be hand-on in a labor-intensive environment.
Perform installation, alteration of refrigeration systems and related equipment/facilities;
Troubleshoot and repair all mechanical and electrical equipment;
Assist in the Preventative Maintenance Program using work orders issued by Supervision and documenting work performed on equipment to maintain in operation;
Adjustments of equipment in a Safe Manner as needed during production;
Familiar with start-up and shut down processes in production plants;
Ability to use lock out / tag out process to isolate equipment prior to working on unit;
Ability to trouble shoot electrical components with meter when equipment is down;
Establish schedule for the replacement of parts without disrupting process unless repair cannot be performed safely;
Always observes and practices safety and housekeeping procedures.
Performs other duties as required.
Experience, Education, and Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Ammonia refrigeration experience or refrigeration experience required.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in produce-cooling, electrical (480 -3 phase) and control theory.
Candidate should have experience with screw and reciprocating compressor, HVAC units, air compressors and associated control systems.
Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license and clean driving record required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must have general computer skills.
Good communication skills to ensure timely repairs of equipment and issues that arise.
Able to inform upper management of any upcoming problems in efforts to minimize the impact on plant operations.
Punctual, reliable and available during emergencies.
Welding skills are a plus but, not required.
Will need to drive forklift.
Bilingual preferred (Spanish).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
Ability to perform repetitive and physical demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting, walking, working at heights, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting and stooping).
Must be able to work in a fast paced, loud, and labor-intensive environment in variable temperatures (from outdoor heat to indoor refrigerated coolers).
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
