Job Description Summary


SAFETY
Must have a complete knowledge as well as demonstrate plant safety rules including but not limited to the lockout-tagout procedure, confined space entry, chemical hazards, and the hearing conservation program. While performing task is expected to identify risk to themselves and others and modify task to mitigate these risks to insure a safe outcome. Is expected to properly use PPE as it relates to maintenance tasks and operating specialized maintenance tools and equipment. Must have good personal hygiene and be able to practice safe work habits.


JOB FUNCTION
The position will be responsible for repair and maintenance of electrical equipment in the plant, storages, disposal, & farm. This person will have the responsibility of performing routine preventative maintenance work, diagnosing equipment problems, executing repairs, replacing, and setting up equipment, using equipment repair manuals. Installing and testing new motor and control circuitry.

This position may be required to work any shift and/or all days of the week in accordance with operational and the plant needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:

Routine Maintenance Duties

Able to perform maintenance work, repair, and adjustment of electrical power and control on equipment. Change and replace belts, pulleys, bearings, motors, filters, and perform general electrical maintenance on other specialty equipment unique to the plant process.
Able to diagnose and repair electrical power issues with 480/277/240 vac operating systems like motors, lighting, contactors, and control.
Able to diagnose and repair electrical control issues with 24 – 120 vac operating voltages.
Able to diagnose and repair electrical equipment issues with 12-48 vdc operating voltages.
Able to read operating instructions, maintenance manuals, & electrical diagrams to perform repairs.
Able to perform preventive maintenance tasks assigned through SAP.
Able to update CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) with status and details of work order results daily.
Able to maintain organized workspaces, tools, support 5S, centerlining, and documentation.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Ability to perform simple conduit repair tasks.
Ability to diagnose, repair, or replace bad electrical wiring throughout plant.
Ability to obtain certification for forklift, knuckle boom and manlift.
Ability to get certified in confined space to the level of rescue team.
Knowledge of equipment typical to processing, like peelers, lamb guns, blanchers, dryers, fryers, freezers, shakers, conveyors, motors, gearmotors, & pumps.
Basic knowledge of specialty systems like batter, former, DM feeder, & seaweed feeder.
Ability to install, repair, replace all types of lighting fixtures.
Ability to install, repair, replace all types of transformers, relays, contactors, switches, & pushbuttons.
Ability to perform simple conduit, power and control wiring repairs.
Assist in coordination of ordering materials and supplies
Requires completing NFPA70E Electrical Safety in the Workplace training
Requires completing an annual hands on Arc Flash/Electrical Safety Demonstration.
Ability to wire, install and program VFD’s.
Ability to diagnose and replace a defective branch circuit breaker.
Ability to determine wire and overloads sizing, install and test.
Basic knowledge of emergency lighting and fire alarm systems.
Basic knowledge of Rockwell & Modicon PLC components.
Ability to select and use electrical testing tools. (VOM’s, Amp meters, Meggers, IR scan)
Ability to use iFix, iHistorian and HMI’s to troubleshoot process and electrical issues.

Ability to successfully utilize computer systems and processes that support effective work planning.
Attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
Ability to stay self-motivated manage workload to meet deadlines.
History of working safely including both, those new to the company and current LW employees.
Ability to recognize and mitigate risk to achieve safe outcomes.
Ability to acquire and maintain tools on Elec I tools list within 7 days in the role.
Ability to meet LW requirements to operate a company vehicle.
Ability to diagnose and replace main circuit breakers 200 amp and above.
Thorough knowledge of specialty systems like batter, former, DM feeder, & seaweed feeder.
Ability to troubleshoot, repair or replace all types of VFD’s and soft starters.
Ability to install basic power and control conduit systems for new equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning Hastings air makeup units.
Ability to use PLC I/O documentation and discreet I/O cards to troubleshoot control issues.
Ability to wire up new controls to discreet I/O cards.
Ability to diagnose and replace bad PLC I/O cards.
Basic knowledge of packaging and B&R machinery.
Ability to train and direct other electricians.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
Ability to install and troubleshoot a 4-20ma circuit.
Detailed knowledge and excellent troubleshooting skills of process, packaging and Boiler/Refrigeration control circuitry.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair/replace all types of VFD’s and soft starts.
Ability to troubleshoot analog and digital I/O cards.
Ability to thoroughly and accurately troubleshoot, diagnose, repair/replace any piece of electrical power and control apparatus in processing, packaging, boiler and refrigeration.
Ability to troubleshoot/repair air conditioners electrically & mechanically.
Ability to identify and verify operation of all types of instrumentation to include but not limited to: pressure, flow, temperature, level, weight, positioners.
Ability to identify and verify operation all types of analytical instruments to include but not limited to: PH, Conductivity, Brix, Concentration, humidity.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred. Mechanical aptitude and experience in industrial maintenance is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety documents and processes, operating and maintenance instructions or work orders, technical and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondences. Ability to communicate effectively with peers and Team Leaders alike.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must be proficient in basic mathematical calculations addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.
