Position Title: Accounts Payable Accountant
Pay Range: $26.50 - $28.50 per hour (DOE)
Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly Management)
Reports to: Accounting Manager

Position Summary: Process and manage all aspects of Accounts Payable, Centralized Purchasing, and Inkind.
Crosstrain with Accounting Manager on Procurement compliance including debarment and purchasing thresholds.

Minimum Qualifications:
 AA degree in Accounting/Business or related field and three years’ experience in accounting procedures; Or
 An equivalent combination of experience and/or training which demonstrates the required knowledge,
skills, and abilities to perform the essential job functions.
 Experience with Accounting software and Excel.
 Strong computational skills and knowledge of accounting practices.
 Strong interpersonal skills.
 Typing, office machines and computer entry skills.
 Ability to work in a team atmosphere with moderate amount of supervision.
 Ability to work under pressure to ensure that deadlines are always met.

Essential Job Functions:
Account Payable:
 Processes check requests, allocating the costs to the appropriate expense accounts and funding sources per
contract specifications.
 Ensure each check request include proper documentation per audit and review requirements.
 Ensure contract end compliance with invoices posted to general ledger based on the month that services
were provided assuring allowability.
 Reconcile general ledger accounts relating to Accounts Payable on monthly or as need basis.
 Coordinate with the Managers in the area of travel advances and expenses, agency directed training, out of
area travel and all pertinent information needed by management.
 Track excise tax purchases and submit quarterly excise tax reports. Track information and documentation for
annual reporting of 1099's.
 Work with program/ partner staff to ensure accurate and compliant inventory maintenance.
 Assist Controller with preparation of review/audit work papers.

Centralized Purchasing
 Complete ordering for EPIC per centralized purchasing system ensuring compliance with procurement and
debarment regulations.
 Track receipt of purchases and work with sites on delivery.
 Research best vendors to ensure best pricing, customer service, and timely delivery.

In-kind:
 Provide leadership and self-direction to the in-kind function.
 Work collaboratively with partner staff to proactively seek out in-kind opportunities.
 Manage and perform the computerized in-kind and all related activities assuring accuracy.
 Prepare and distribute in-kind reports to the appropriate management staff and proactively work with staff
on training and accurate collection of in-kind.
 Maintain a high level of professional relationships with all vendors to reflect positive public relations for EPIC
creating opportunities for in-kind contributions, discounts, etc.

Other:
 Work with Accounting team to develop and implement processes in utilizing EPIC's technology to reduce
paper and increase communication with staff.
 Prepare schedules required for annual audit.
 Support and promote a team centered approach to delivery of accounting services.
 Other duties as assigned.

Other Conditions of Employment:
1. Pass EPIC’s pre-employment drug screen
2. Cleared Portable background check through the Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) and/or
fingerprinting check/WA State Patrol criminal background check when required.
3. Complete child abuse and neglect training and all other mandated training.
4. Prior to employment, complete an initial health exam by an EPIC Health Care Provider and a TB skin test,
at no cost to the employee.
5. Executive Director approval.
