Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing start-up services for Romtec Utilities, Inc. pumping systems. Start-up services require frequent travel to job sites around the United States. The Start-up Technician is required to perform electrical and mechanical trouble shooting using basic hand tools and electrical test equipment. In addition, the Start-up Technician is responsible maintaining accurate start-up documents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Communicates with Engineering and Project Management regarding scheduled start-ups, delays, changes, or additional services required;
• Provides PLC and HMI programming services;
• Maintains accurate documentation of all programming and start-up services;
• Performs inspection, calibrations and routine adjustments of electrical systems including programmable controllers, variable frequency drives and other associated equipment;
• Prepares current and accurate prints and schematic diagrams of systems and updates existing diagrams to conform to modifications being made or previously completed;
• Troubleshoots and repairs systems to ensure maximum operation;
• Operates and maintains electrical and electronic test equipment;
• Acts as a liaison between customers and Project Management group;
• Assists in creating and maintaining start-up technical documents;
• Prepares and plans for systems start-up work ensuring that all information, drawings, parts, and tools are available for efficient execution of the job;
• Meets or exceeds the highest standards of quality and environmental responsibility in all decisions and actions;
• Demonstrates commitment to and leadership for environmental, health, and safety principles and directives with his/her personal safety, and the safety of others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
It is critical that the applicant:
• Two years of post-secondary technical education, or a minimum of five years’ experience in electrical control and integration. This experience must include a demonstration of excellent organizational skills
• Strong electrical aptitude with a basic understanding of the National Electrical Code
• Good computer skills required with experience using Word, Excel, and AutoCAD or equivalent
• Basic mechanical skills with an understanding of pumps and pumping systems
