Job Description:
The Information Systems Technician performs a variety of functions relating to Information Systems Support and Plant Services to assure quality of operations throughout Whitman Hospital and Medical Clinics. Specific areas of responsibility are within the realm of communications equipment, computer network cabling and hardware, various office equipment connected to communications or network systems, nurse call equipment and wiring, wireless system components, computer problem troubleshooting, and computer network troubleshooting. Additional responsibilities are within the realm of electrical and electronic installations and troubleshooting on various systems throughout the entire facility.

Performance Standards
- Performs maintenance work on all systems requiring electrical data or other wiring (i.e. data / phone) as allowed within regulatory scope of facility.
- Maintains and troubleshoots systems to include, but not be limited to: security, nurse call, fire alarm, communications systems, automated office equipment, video systems, clock systems, radios, phone systems and phones, etc.
- Works in conjunction with manager(s) and INHS IT lead to install equipment as needed, but with a focus on equipment with Information Systems and people interfaces.
- Works in conjunction with manager(s) and INHS IT lead to train staff on equipment with Information Systems and people interfaces.
- Performs other maintenance mechanic tasks as assigned and as needed according to workload of facility.
- Works in conjunction with manager(s) to read and interpret engineer and architect drawings to advice on impacts of decisions being pondered for future or current work as it relates to areas of expertise.
- Works with INHS IT lead and manager(s) on maintenance of computers, printers, faxes, networking equipment and other IT equipment as needed.

Required Qualifications
Associate degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
A current unrestricted driver’s license.
Understanding of simple mathematical calculations.

Preferred Qualifications
TIAA+, CCNA, Network+, CISSP, MCSE or PDC.
Two (2) years of experience.
