Another Source’s client, Sabey Corporation, is recruiting a Senior Payroll Specialist to join their Tukwila, Washington team. Here’s a little about Sabey Corporation and the position they are recruiting for:

Sabey Corporation is a 45 year-old privately held Seattle based full-service commercial real estate company with an outstanding reputation. The Company is primarily engaged in data center, office, and industrial property development, construction and operations with ownership in the Pacific Northwest and on the east coast.

The Senior Payroll Specialist has indirect responsibility for all aspects of payroll processing and payroll accounting. This position will be instrumental in working with the Accounting and Human Resources departments to support our payroll/HR system, ADP Workforce Now. This person will report to the Payroll & Benefits Administration Manager and will work closely with the Director of Human Resources.  This is a salaried exempt position located in Tukwila, WA. 

- Prepare and process payroll for multiple companies in multiple states, each with unique structures. A combined total of roughly 210 employees with varying pay frequencies; semi-monthly, bi-weekly, and weekly.  
- Assist employees, managers and other departments with payroll and payroll accounting related questions or issues. 
- Ensure accurate data entry for all new hires, employee changes and terminations into our payroll/HR system, ADP.  
- Review and remit employee payroll retirement plan contributions and other payroll retirement plan related forms. 
- Assist with payroll and benefits related audits. 
- Work closely with ADP and other vendors to ensure that services meet the expectations of all users. 
- Interpret union contracts and their associated payroll requirements. 
- Prepare quarterly Washington State L&I filings, monthly health savings account (HSA) employer contributions, and monthly union reports. 
- Generate payroll reports for specific departments on a per payroll basis, a monthly basis and upon request.  
- Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile the payroll liability accounts to ensure the accuracy of our general ledger. 
- Confirm and/or submit quarterly and annual tax reports/statements generated by ADP (state tax reports, 940s, 941s, W-2s, 1095-Cs, 1094-Cs, etc.). 
- Reconcile monthly benefit invoices in conjunction with the payroll deductions/memos. 
- Respond to and/or complete payroll related notices (VOEs, writs/garnishments, IRS notices, etc.).  
- Perform other duties as assigned. 

- Ability to interface with technology and operate a computer  
- Ability to interact with Sabey employees at all levels – must be able to foster and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues  
- Ability to think critically and employ strong problem-solving skills 
- Ability to pay strong attention to detail 
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time   

3-5+ years of related work experience required 
Experience with payroll accounting required 
Expertise in Microsoft Office required  
B.A./B.S. in a related field preferred 
Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred 
CPP certification preferred 

- Solid understanding and working knowledge of state and federal payroll compliance and payroll tax laws required. 
- Solid understanding and working knowledge of accounting processes and the flow of data/monies from payroll into the general ledger required. 
- Experience with administering company payroll, working closely with external providers and current employees to effectively manage relationships and ensure excellence in providing service and information.  
- Passion for researching and implementing new things such as, but not limited to, payroll for a new entity or setting up new earnings/deduction/memo codes.  
- Analytical expertise with strong investigative and problem-solving skills. 
- Forward thinking and willingness to continually improve processes.  
- Keen organizational skills with the ability to support a fast-paced, fluid environment.  
- Outstanding customer service skills and a successful team player.
