Job Description:
WSDOT is currently seeking an Accountant to provide timely and accurate accounting information to management. This position is responsible to render payments to individuals and organizations as required by applicable law and agency policy.

What to Expect
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, you/the Accountant will:
- Process, review, tabulate, verify, and prepare accounting documents.
- Identify and resolve agreement exceptions.
- Review and approve WSF Payment vouchers and Journal vouchers.
- Reconcile general ledger to general journal.
- Prepare journal entries, quarterly tax reports.
- Prepare journals for accruals and investments.
- Prepare, analyze, and reconcile subsidiary ledgers for the GL.
- Compile and issues report of accounting records.

To be considered for this opportunity, the following are required:
Associates degree in accounting or related field, and two (2) years relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and one (1) year of relevant experience.
A combination of education and experience attesting to the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential functions.
Ability to apply and adapt established accounting methods to a variety of accounting transactions
Ability to analyze and interpret accounting records and reports.
Ability to prepare reports and statements of financial data.

It is preferred that qualified candidates also have:
- Professional work experience in accounts payable.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of balancing accounts.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of governmental accounting principles and practices.
