The Data Analyst Intern is responsible with working with Program Analysts and Business Solutions Analyst to assist with Enterprise System Support and Improvement. This position is located in Seattle, Washington and will be a long-term position that can flex between full-time and part-time.

Position requires high degree of technical and excellent interpersonal communication skills as well as a willingness and capacity to learn quickly and apply new knowledge.

1. Provide technical assistance to internal customers.
2. Data entry, data analysis, and statistical modeling
3. Assist with testing, trouble shooting,
4. Acquire, transform, manipulate, audit and analyze data from multiple sources
5. Communicate analysis and associated insights to broad audiences
6. Clean data and resolve errors for data integrity
7. Support system design, control, and training documentation
8. Effectively communicate information and insights to technical and non-technical audiences
9. Gather information, prepare work Instructions and other training materials, and write documentation describing business processes.
10. Respond to change productively and contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
11. Assist in building reports using available resources

This position works within established parameters and requires regular use of sound judgment to make recommendations on business process improvements within job authorities. Impact of recommendations and work is broad and could potentially reach across all business units and support departments.

The incumbent communicates regularly through both verbal and written form in understandable terms with all levels of the company, including senior executives.

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate-level degree in Information Systems, data and analytics, business analytics, or related field. The ideal candidate will have some academic knowledge or experience in database query language (SQL), and visualization/reporting tools.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity in the shipyard. The individual may be required to be in production areas in yard and onboard ships. He/she must be able to walk to and from job sites. The person must be able to climb inclined stairways and vertical ladders; to enter confined areas and tanks; to work at heights. The incumbent must be able to frequently bend, squat, crawl, twist and may be required to lift up to 25 pounds. Good finger, hand and wrist dexterity required for extensive computer operations. The person must have good hand-eye coordination and may spend extended time sitting in front of a computer terminal. He/she may be required to work more than 8-hour shifts and weekend work. There may be local travel and out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 5% of the time with notice.
