Summary of Duties:
The Refrigeration Mechanic Lead will lead journey level refrigeration mechanics. Perform maintenance, repair and installation of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Perform maintenance, repair and installation of equipment related to campus chilled water. Work on departmental and research equipment.

Required Qualifications:
- One year full-time experience as a journey refrigeration mechanic or equivalent trade skill. Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
- Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid unrestricted Driver’s License.
- EPA Refrigerant Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Four years journey-level experience in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning with prior lead experience.
- Experience using all types of power tools & equipment utilized in troubleshooting & maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and environmental systems.
- Experience in identification, handling and implementing chemicals for chilled water closed loop systems.

Monthly Salary: Range 49/G $4,509.00 - $5,102.00 (Step G through L) Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 or applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
