THIS POSITION IS FOR THE 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR.
Note: This position is open to qualified CERSD employees from May 9 - 13, 2022. Applications received from out of district applicants will not be considered until May 14th. Scheduling of interviews to selected qualified applicants may begin the week of June 3rd. The position is open until filled.

Reports to: Principal
Purpose: To provide quality instruction and effective classroom management while teaching Woodworking (beginner / advanced) and Drafting and Design at the Middle School and High School level.
Location: Cle Elum-Roslyn High School
Position: 1.0 FTE
Planning, preparing, implementing and evaluating instructional activities consistent with established program and/or curriculum objectives, CTE Program Standards, 21st Century Skills, Washington State Standards, and Common Core Standards.
Demonstrating effective teaching practices, and utilizing appropriate instructional methods and materials suited to the students’ aptitudes and interests, and the nature of the learning activities.
Providing clear and intentional focus on subject matter content and curriculum.
Using multiple student data elements to modify instruction and improve student learning.
Providing instruction that centers on high expectation for student achievement.
Exhibiting collaborative and collegial practices focused on improving instructional practice and student learning.
Recognizing individual student learning needs, and developing strategies to address those needs.
Establishing classroom policies and procedures governing student behavior to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
Providing guidance, counseling and discipline to encourage students to meet the standard of achievement and conduct
Communicating and collaborating with students, parents and/or guardians, administration, and other staff members to provide guidance and evaluation and encourage student achievement.
Evaluating and recording student progress, and providing reports for administrative purposes.
Maintain program certification through OSPI Course Approval Process.
Provide leadership and guidance to students by providing extended leadership opportunities.
Maintain active participation and work with CTE program advisory committees.
Performing other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships and interact successfully with all school district staff and students.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters in an ethical manner.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and accept the responsibility of providing effective leadership in a fast paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to problem solve and provide logical solutions in complex situations.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated high level of computer proficiency and application of technology.
Educational / Vocational Preparation Occupational Certificates / Licenses:
Washington State teaching certificate appropriate to assignment. Endorsements, Special certification and/or license required for specific assignment.
Attainment and maintenance of a valid CTE teaching certificate and First Aid/CPR/AED card are required for continued employment.
Must qualify to work in the proximity of children under the conditions of a WSP/FBI background check
Preferred Education and Experience:
Student cultural and economic diversity experience, preferred.
Experience using Chief Architect or CADD software.
Terms of Employment
Contract: 180 student days with a supplemental contract of 4 days

New staff orientation and professional development/training prior to start of school still TBD
