DSHS DDA Customer Service Specialist 2

Join the Developmental Disabilities Administration today in our Tacoma office and be part of our hard-working team of professionals.

In this fast-paced environment, you will provide customer service and resolve complaints from clients, the general public, community partners, providers, and staff.

Some of what you'll do:


Act as a liaison to resolve client complaints, inquiries, and customer service issues
Greet visitors to the office and refer to the appropriate, staff, meeting room, or office
Provide the public, clients, providers, and customers with explanations on forms, pamphlets, and other materials
Ensure positive working relationships are maintained with other regions, agencies, or organizations
Answer multiple line phone system, directing callers to appropriate staff in a courteous and professional manner
Respond to email and voicemail messages
Coordinate building and office meeting room space and maintain calendars
Review computer-generated reports for accuracy and completeness, review and prepare data dissemination to the office
Prepare labels for files and prepare purged files to be sent to the Records Center and retrieve files when needed.

Ability to communicate information both orally and in writing so others will understand
Experience with multi-line phone systems
Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others
Organization and attention to detail
Ability to remain calm while working with clients, families, and the general public who may be upset
Experience in managing competing priorities
Maintain confidentiality of all client data
Operate multiple, complex computer programs such as CARE, Microsoft Office, Department of Health, ACD, and any other programs essential to the performance of duties.
Review multiple data spreadsheets and track for completion/non-completion of training for compliance/out of compliance providers
Ability to type 40 wpm


Who should apply?

Professionals with an associate's degree and two years of clerical experience providing assistance to customers regarding inquiries, complaints, or problems; or a bachelor's degree; or equivalent clerical experience providing assistance to customers regarding inquiries, complaints, or problems.
