DSHS ALTSA Web UI/UX Angular Front-End Engineer

Looking to put your technical knowledge of web user interfaces to working and contributing towards transforming lives? We are looking for a Web UI/Angular Front-End Engineer, who will be responsible for working with our team to improve and enhance our Java based web application of CARE within the Department of Social and Health Services.

For our Developmental Disabilities Administration and Aging and Long-Term Support Administration, much of the services we provide to vulnerable adults would not be effectively accomplished without out technical staff and team members like you. Joining the Systems & Programing unit, a big part of your day is using collaboration skills to develop, contribute ideas, code, and support software solutions.

This is an ideal opportunity if you are seeking a role where your work focus is in designing and developing application front-end features and functionalities with responsive user-interface providing rich user experience. This person will be joining our team in a project opportunity, scheduled until June 2023.

What you'll be doing

Creating a new web interface for the current CARE application by analyzing, collecting and reviewing information to determine the nature and scope of effect of changes
You will use your UX/UI skills (Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery, Java/JSP consuming backend REST services) to analyze, design, develop, code, and test the next generation modern, responsive UI features for application that are accessible for staff and clients.
Supporting Programing Team by peer reviewing documentation and programing code by other team members to validate meeting business rules, best practices, and standards.
Mentoring junior and new team members on tools, technology, process and standards.
Conducting business analysis for stakeholders, facilitating workshops to elicit and document business requirements.
Learning, sharing knowledge, and working to improve services.

What we are looking for:
Applicants with Bachelors or advanced degree in information systems/technology, computer science, engineering or closely related field and a minimum of six years of information technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing, programming and/or maintaining computer software applications.

Additional years of related experience may substitute (year for year) for educational requirements.

Applicants will need at least four years of hands on experience in UI development and visual design, building Web applications with expert skills in responsive UI design using Angular2+ /React, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, Bootstrap and JQuery.
Knowledge of backend REST services development with Spring, Spring boot and Hibernate frameworks will be a plus.
Knowledge of SQL programming including SQL objects (stored procedures, functions, etc.) willbe a plus.
Requirements elicitation, documentation, and system design
At least one year in leading UI/UX design efforts.
Preferred Experience:
Clear understanding of advanced design principles and design user friendly, responsive UI for applications
Work with graphic design, web application development, typography design, print layout, web application style guides
Strong data analysis skills
Involvement in software projects from initiation to completion, filling multiple roles
