DSHS IT Business Analyst Journey
The Technology Services Division (TSD) is seeking a skilled IT Business Analyst to join our team in Olympia. In this role you will analyze and document user business requirements in support of large-scale, mission-critical IT projects that impact services and applications for direct service delivery. You will also collaborate and interact closely with technical staff, system product owners, business subject matter and senior management to establish and implement work products for the agency.

Some of what you'll do:
Serves as IT liaison with the business community
Coordinate efforts of IT staff and facilitate communication between IT department and business subject matter experts
Conduct interviews to gather customer requirements
Analyze processes, problems, trends and strategies to assist in the development and implementation of technical solutions that achieve business goals
Contribute to business cases by thoroughly and clearly describing the problem, root causes and impacts
Provide expertise and project management oversight for IT projects
Manage business process re-engineering activities for processes that support multiple parts of all of DSHS
Provide project management
Direct project staff across the enterprise
Actively manage issues, risk and change management processes
Develop quality and other measures for projects, provide routine monitoring and reporting on these measures
What we're looking for:
Experience reviewing and preparing documentation
Proficient in translating complex technical issues into readily understood concepts
Experience in software development processes
Knowledge of the standards, architecture, and specifications of automated financial systems
Demonstrative aptitude towards problem identification, resolution and comprehension and interpretation of technical procedures
Ability to facilitate meetings
Understand and analyze complex business challenges
Ability to think conceptually using creative, comparative and inductive reasoning
Who should apply?
Professionals with a Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field and 4 years of information technology experience
Associates degree in information technology or related field and 6 years of information technology experience
8 years of information technology experience
