Western State Hospital is currently seeking an Office Assistant 3. We have full-time and non-perm opportunities available.

This Office Assistant opportunity is located at Western State Hospital in Lakewood, WA. Using your exceptional detail, multi-tasking, and organizational skills, you will maintain standardization of the medical record with strict adherence to federal, state regulations, while following established hospital policies, procedures, guidelines, and forms.
Some of what you'll do:
Act as primary clerical staff of the ward supporting staff and patients
Create and maintains records, files, records, forms, databases, reports, audits, logs and manuals within established systems or guidelines
Maintain accountability of medical records, charts, files per the GOR Manual and records documentation by creating or updating accountability logs
Follow established policies/procedures regarding security of computer/network files
Ensure medical records, files, records, documents, and forms are returned to proper location within established timeframes
Create, draft, prepare updates and proofreads treatment plans, routine forms, letters, memos, labels, logs, reports and other documents as required
Utilize computers to update and maintain hospital patient data bases and shared network files
Perform complex and routine word processing, typing, database and electronic mail tasks using computers, spreadsheets, data bases and emails
Receive, sort, and distribute mail, messages, charts, files, records, forms, and the knowledge of supplies and equipment on the ward
Receive and maintains office inventory of supplies and forms
Serve as primary operator for office equipment and requests
What we are looking for:
Excellent verbal communication skills
Knowledge of PHI or HIPAA
Demonstrate computer skills to include Microsoft Office to include PowerPoint and Excel
Knowledge of the DSHS Mission, Vision & Values and fit in with the office culture and professional environment
Who should apply?
