DSHS FFA Maintenance Mechanic

We're looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to perform sub-journey-level work in alterations, repairs, and maintenance of buildings, facilities, and equipment at the Shoreline office in Washington. You'll provide vital building repairs and maintenance work in a wide variety of trade fields such as carpentry, plumbing, steam fitting, HVAC, light electrical work, machinist, and mechanical work.

Some of what you'll do:

Perform repair work on fixtures, plumbing, heating, laundry, kitchen equipment, motors, mechanical and electrical equipment/appliances
Perform preventative maintenance on a vast array of equipment including carts and general appliances
Operate power tools, hand tools, drill presses, saws, ground tools, and equipment as well as vehicles affiliated with the trade
Operate bucket loader and snowplow, snow blower, snow shovel, sand and salt roads and sidewalks
Move furniture and assemble new equipment
Operate vehicles and transport materials and supplies
Contact vendors, research, and order parts needed for job duties

Who should apply?
Maintenance professionals with a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work.

Ability to treat all clients and staff with dignity and respect
Ability to respond to client and facility emergencies
