Job Description:
Responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all plant equipment and facilities. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, conveyor systems, production machines, etc.

Schedule: Monday through Friday
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices. It is the responsibility of every employee at Tree Top Inc. to report food safety and food quality problems or risks to personnel with the authority to initiate action against these said possible risks. The Organization chart indicates key personnel with the authority to take action. This is a representative sample--not to imply a complete listing of all responsibilities and tasks.

Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of all equipment within the plant by maintaining refrigeration and hydraulic systems; plumbing, steam and pneumatic systems

Takes initiative to identify and solve problems, work in a team approach with maintenance, production and other groups

Maintains power transmission equipment, seals, bearings, gears and shafts

Completes boiler repairs and maintenance as necessary

Examines parts visually, magnified and by touch to detect imperfections

Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments

Determines cause of problems and decides on corrective action, both temporary and long term fixes

Interprets a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

Maintains area of responsibility to meet GMP standards

Responsible for cleanup of equipment and shop area; proper storage of tools and materials

Repairs or replaces defective parts.

Reports and charges time and materials used on jobs.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Lubricates and cleans parts

Follows Lock Out Tag Out Procedures

All other duties as assigned or requested by supervisor



Three years related mechanic, millwright or maintenance experience

Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with co-workers and supervisors.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute ratios, and percentages

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Machinist, metal fabrication, welding skills
Ability to train and coach other employees
Knowledge in Food Safety fundamentals
Ability to use Windows based software, including email.
Ability to complete forklift certification

Completion of a forklift safety training course
