Yakima Valley College is accepting applications for an IT Customer Support – Entry. This
position functions on-site to support the Video Teleconferencing Distance Learning Services for Yakima Valley College. This is a full-time classified position, the beginning salary is per month for 40 hours per week, with periodic increments up to, plus a full state benefits package.

The Video Teleconferencing (VTC) distance learning team supports all YVC students, faculty, and staff classrooms, events, and Audio Video (AV) solutions. This includes all VTC operations, asset management, instructor station hardware, VTC configurations, installations, preventative maintenance, applications, and classroom VTC solutions.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Technology Services, the IT Customer Support – Entry position coordinates and manages projects, events, services, operations, technical support, and equipment maintenance for (VTC) solutions. Assists with VTC and technology installations and maintenance. Manages instructor stations, conference room functionality, and products used for distribution of VTC.

Essential Tasks
Functions on-site to perform the following:

VTC Operations & Project Management


Establish technical requirements of live, remote, and recorded VTC/lecture capture productions.
Manage the production of capturing, storing, and distribution of multimedia for classroom instructional sessions.
Design, install, and wire the technical setup for live and remote VTC /streaming productions.
Maintain current knowledge of technical developments in videoconference and lecture capture engineering.
Manage the planning, scope, time, and communication of projects using Smartsheet
Utilize Smartsheet to manage project timelines and documentation of future projects.
Manage VTC equipment installation, repairs, warranty, and lifecycle replacement for all campus locations.
Travel to multiple satellite locations for the incident, change, and project management purposes.
Troubleshoot and assess connectivity issues pertaining to distance learning and instructor stations.
Run cables, establish pathway, terminate, punch down and cable manage necessary cables for all VTC solutions.
Development and implementation of lecture capture systems.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE OF:

Infrastructure, networking, and cabling best practices.
Analog and Digital Audio equipment (Speakers, Microphones, etc) and protocols.
Analog and Digital Video equipment (Projectors, Displays, etc) and protocols.
Distance Learning Solutions, including Zoom, Teams, MS Stream, Panopto, and Canvas.
ABILITY TO:
Display an effective understanding of the job responsibilities, the roles of others within the Technology Services Department and YVC employees, and the strategic goals of YVC.
Contribute to the overall customer satisfaction goals of Technology Services.
Take all reasonable measures to assure and maintain data integrity and security.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to independently move equipment up to 50lbs & move equipment more than 50lbs with the assistance of others.
Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged and considerable amounts of time.
Must be able to routinely reach, stoop, bend, kneel and crouch while performing duties of the position.
Must be able to climb ladders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree in Information Technology; OR, Equivalent education and work experience; AND
One year or more experience working in an IT customer support environment.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with Audio Video design and standardization.
Experience in designing, developing, and maintenance of VTC technology.
Experience working in higher education.
SCHEDULE:
When on days; M-F 7:30am – 4:30pm (Summer M-Th 6:00am – 4:30pm), Will work some nights and weekends for VTC classes and events.
