Job Description:
Jireh Semiconductor is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the operations of the Hillsboro, OR fabrication facility. We are looking for someone with a strong electrical background, LME preferred. Experience in PLC, Instrumentation and Controls highly desired. We love to hire veterans!
This is a day shift position, compressed schedule 12 hour shifts.
POSITION SUMMARY
• Operate & perform maintenance on a variety of complex and intricately connected semiconductor support equipment putting safety first while actively participating in ERT.
• Perform PMs using skills of your craft making sure to use critical thinking.
• Work together as a team in alignment with business goals to support our fab so that all manufacturing metrics are met or exceeded.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Specialization in electrical, instrumentation, process controls and automation
• Primary responsibilities include monitoring the operation and responding to issues on systems such as cooling towers, chillers, fab tool cooling water systems, pumps, boilers, air compressors, electrical, Fire Life Safety, air handlers, HVAC, solvent/acid pollution abatement, chemical distribution and waste management. Assure we are in compliance with regulations at all times.
• Must use safe work practices, demonstrate good judgment in troubleshooting, and good communication skills while following escalation protocol.
• Complete assigned PMs demonstrating understanding of the job while applying knowledge and trade skills to complete a wide range of tasks within a specific area of responsibility.
• Conduct plant rounds per procedure, finding and resolving issues as observed.
• Work on moderately difficult assignments requiring judgment in resolving issues and make recommendations for improvements. Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
• Tasks include consistently using on-line passdown, responding to facility service requests and 6S.
• Supporting Emergency Response Team is required. Prior first response training is desirable.
• Must be willing to sometimes work different shifts to help with coverage, practice good time management, and exhibit strong motivation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Able to stand and walk for extended time periods during a 12 hour shift.
• Essential daily tasks require maintaining physical condition necessary for such functions as lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, performing plant rounds, bending, squatting, kneeling and associated movements common to performing maintenance on equipment etc.
• The successful candidate will need to pass a physical and be respirator qualified.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Associates degree in science, facilities, a trade skill, or military duties related to facilities or equivalent is required.
• A trade skill related to facilities and 2-4 years of experience operating and maintaining a semiconductor or large industrial plant is preferred.
• Instrumentation & Controls Certification (such as from Perry Technical Institute) highly desired
• LME license is a huge plus
• The ability to read and understand SDSs, and follow environmental and safety regulations as they pertain to designated tasks is required. Chemical handling experience is preferred.
• Must have basic computer skills such as MS Word, Excel, and e-mail.
