WSDOT Washington State Ferries Information Technology Division is currently seeking an IT Support Technician 2 in Seattle, WA. This is a non-permanent position, expected to last through June of 2023. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting regional customers by assessing and resolving issues regarding hardware replacements, software applications, and conflicts with third party products. The IT Support Technician 2 meets critical needs for employees to use desktop computing resources to carry out their mission of operating and improving the state’s transportation systems and ensuring the safety of the traveling public.
What to Expect
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, the IT Support Technician 2 will:
Assist IT professional staff with installing, maintaining, and resolving hardware and software problems; reload software or reconfigures systems where required.
Manage and maintain operating systems and computer resources to ensure compliance with current standards.
Support various WSDOT conference room technology including PC’s OWL’s, cameras, and microphones.
Track and monitor IT inventory by assigning assets to individual users and business organizations, documenting assignments, and auditing inventory; track and monitor active service requests to ensure timely resolution.
Install and maintain peripherals such as printers, modems, scanners, and removable storage devices.
Track and audit WSDOT purchased software for compliance with license agreements.
To be considered for this opportunity, the following are required:
Two years of college credits/education in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
It is preferred that qualified candidates also have:
CompTIA A+ certification
CompTIA Net+ certification
Experience providing technical consulting
Experience performing installation of IT hardware and software
Experience supporting Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Suite, and Adobe products

The salary listed for this position includes a legislative approved 5% premium for workers in King County.
