UW Medical Center – Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time (100% FTE, 40 hours per week), day shift CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT to join our Neurology Clinic in North Seattle. Our Neurology Clinic is a regional leader in neurological care, providing individualized, state-of-the-art diagnostic investigation and treatment plans for spinal cord, stroke, and nerve injuries. SCHEDULE:
The Medical Assistant will work 40 hours per week, day shift only. Our Neurology Clinic is in North Seattle, just off I-5.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Bring patients to exam rooms and document heart rate, blood pressure, height and weight
Obtain patient history, determine patient needs, and prepare patient to see the medical provider
Answer questions and follow through on patient inquiries
Administer medications, injections, and immunizations
Perform all duties associated with the completion of patient paperwork, including prior authorizations and diagnostic testing requests
Assist with minor office procedures as needed

REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board; OR equivalent education/experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation during the probationary period. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment.

DESIRED:
Previous experience in a clinic setting
Familiarity with Epic EMR software
Active BLS Certification
