Job Description for Mechanic VI Senior Level.
We have an immediate position open for a Maintenance Mechanic to work in our facility as well as in the field with our crew in our Pasco location. Mechanics interested in secure, steady employment are encouraged to apply. At least 5+ years of experience doing maintenance and repair on diesel trucks and equipment is necessary. Must provide own tools.
Shift is Monday - Friday from 1:00 PM to 10 PM.
Perform various preventative maintenance and repairs based on pre-defined mileage and hour intervals, while complying with industry standards and regulations set by OSHA, FMCSA, DOT and WUTC.
Verify safety equipment periodically on all vehicles.
Perform full vehicle inspections and document the results.
Perform AVIR inspections to insure compliance set by DOT regulations on vehicles at pre-defined intervals, and perform necessary repairs on vehicles to maintain compliance.
Perform diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on equipment both in the field and at our facility using diagnostic software, and other diagnosis techniques.
Complete DVIR repairs on a daily basis, certifying that the repairs have been safely completed while maintaining compliance with regulations set forth by the FMCSA and DOT.
Work with third party vendors to facilitate repairs that are not able to complete in our yard.
Evaluate the repair, document the needed items, and offer an opinion on feasibility.
Participate in the maintaining the facility to standards set forth by OSHA, L&I and other Washington state standards.
Maintain a safe work environment.
Maintain a neat and tidy work environment.
Work with drivers and staff to actively participate in functions of the day.
Document and complete repair orders for all work completed.
Ideal Candidate will possess:
5+ years of experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair preferred; or completion of accredited vocational technical school program.
Strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic and air systems frequently found on trucks and other equipment.
Ability to obtain a CDL (clean driving record, etc..)
The ability to provide personal tools.
Welding experience a plus.
Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
Ability to read and comprehend service literature as well as technical information, electric and hydraulic schematics and diagrams and technical information.
Basic computer skills.
Valid certification is preferred (ASE)
