Program Responsibilities:
The Collections Specialist is expected to respect and follow all YNHA policies and enforce all
applicable YNHA, Tribal, and HUD regulations. Incumbent will implement the collections policies and procedures that apply to delinquent accounts in YNHA rental and homeownership housing. The incumbent is responsible for dealing directly with residents and funding agencies in collecting back payments through Payroll Deductions, and negotiating Payback Agreements. Incumbent provides minimum counseling to tenants and homebuyers on their legal responsibilities
as listed in resident's signed lease or homebuyer agreement. The Collections Specialist will assist
the Housing Enforcement Specialist in preparing case files for Board Hearings and Tenant Appeals. Assist with conducting Urinary Analysis tests, when necessary. The incumbent is part of
the YNHA Housing Department is expected to raise and discuss issues and concerns that arise
from his/her work and propose actions to improve them.

Supervisorv Relationships:
The Collections Specialist receives direction from, is supervised by, and reports to the Housing
Manager. The Collections Specialist is part of the team that provides services to residents and as
such is expected to raise and discuss issues and concerns that may arise from her/his work and to
propose actions to address them. The incumbent has no supervisor responsibilities.
Work Hours and Davs:
Regular work hours at YNHA 8:00 a.m. to noon and 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through
Friday. Employee receives one half-hour unpaid lunch break.

Work Environment:
The employee's work is primarily in-office, but also involves visits to housing developments,
resident's homes, tribal court, the offices of other agencies, community centers and meeting
halls. The employee may be exposed to extreme weather and to usual hazards associated with
housing developments. Sitting, stooping, walking, standing, and lifting or moving up to 25
pounds. Extensive computer usage required.
