Boeing is seeking a Maintenance Plumber Helper to join our team supporting our Portland, OR facilities. You will assist and work with Maintenance Plumbers who layout, construct, install, rebuild, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, modify and test plant facilities plumbing systems.

Position Responsibilities:
- Obtain work assignments from lead, supervisor or other accepted shop procedure.
- Assist in getting drawings, materials and parts required to perform the job. Lock out, tag out and try out equipment for safety, as required.
- Assist in performing planned maintenance on plumbing systems (e.g., deionization systems, main sewer systems, chemical tank lines, fire control systems, pressurized systems) per the Planned Maintenance Instructions (PMI) and to requirements of regulatory agencies (e.g., city, county, EPA).
- Check the monitoring equipment on systems, to ensure they are functioning properly, as required.
- Assist in installing, servicing and repairing various plumbing and mechanical systems (e.g., steam systems, compressed air/gas lines, fire control systems, sprinkler systems), as required.
- Assist in transferring and cleaning chemical processing systems per regulatory procedures.
- Use various hand tools (e.g., wrenches, pliers) and power tools (e.g., threading machine, band saw, victaulic groover) to accomplish the job.
- Assemble/attach various pipes, valves and other plumbing components, using the appropriate tools and method.
- Remove, replace or install insulating materials, bindings, plastic cements per system requirements.
- Operate various types of electric and mechanical lifts (e.g., scissors lifts, elevated work platforms, jacks) to access work area or move parts.
- Refuel vehicles and power equipment with appropriate fuel (e.g., gasoline, propane), as required.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in an approved manner.
- Consult with co-workers or lead when assistance is needed and/or when there are questions on job related issues.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 1+ years of industrial or commercial plumbing and/or pipe fitting experience.
- Must be able to pass fall protection training.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience in backflow prevention, chemical process tank lines, and high pressure steam systems.
