SUMMARY

Our Service Engineer position is responsible for partnering with customers by providing service and support during field visits. This position will be responsible for diagnosing system errors and technical issues on diverse types of equipment either remotely or at the customer site. This position requires prompt customer response, proficient troubleshooting, effective communication, time management, professionalism under pressure, situational awareness, and team collaboration.

Additionally, this position is responsible for building strong customer relationships both internally and externally by teaming with engineering and sales to maximize service growth and customer satisfaction by performing the job duties below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Work with customers and our internal team to diagnose system errors or technical issues with diverse types of equipment remotely or at the customer site.

2. Manage on-site maintenance and repair tasks through established service contracts or ad hoc service requests.

3. Create detailed service reports outlining service work to be performed and log actual activities performed.

4. Follow documented company procedures and methodologies for all applicable activities.

5. Participate in ongoing training activities to develop a deeper understanding of common control and robotic platforms used at Concept Systems.

May be asked to work flexible shifts and be able to adapt to changing work schedules
Completes drawing redlines when design changes are implemented
Works closely with engineers, assembly technicians, designers, and sales department
Works independently as well as under direction
Builds and maintains positive customer relationships
Recognizes opportunities to improve our customers' manufacturing processes through upgrades or new equipment and feed those opportunities to our sales team
Complete onboarding training module and participate in continuous training
Strong organization skills

Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance

Displays safety-minded approach to work internally and externally

SKILLS REQUIRED

Proven field service; hands on Electro-Mechanical experience
Familiarity with multiple PLC platforms primarily Allen-Bradley and Siemens
Familiarity with robotic platforms, primarily Fanuc, ABB and Kuka
Ability to troubleshoot, repair and service equipment with various control platforms
Ability to troubleshoot motor control systems, including VFD controllers
Ability to work with multiple robotic platforms to perform preventative maintenance activities
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics in various formats
Ability to read and understand mechanical assembly drawings and models
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Associates of Science or Applied Science or technical degree in electronics or mechatronics
5 years of field service experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

TRAVEL

Road Warrior - High degree of travel to customer sites throughout US and abroad
Valid, insurable Driver's License is required
Valid Passport for occasional out of country travel preferred

Knowledge of machine safety best practices
Knowledge of and adheres to OSHA requirements

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment may vary depending on start-up and customer site environments.
