Human Resources Assistant Summary:

Direct and administer initial application process, answer routine employee questions, support the Human Resources department through reception, data entry, word processing, maintenance of records and files, and work on special projects.

Requirements for Human Resources Assistant:

Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft programs.
Minimum two years clerical experience.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Legible handwriting.
Must be able to communicate effectively both in person and on the phone in a diverse environment.
Able to file accurately.
Comfortable in a busy environment; able to prioritize.
Able to move between buildings and climb stairs.
Detail oriented, good with numbers and able to proof own work.

Responsibilities for Human Resources Assistant:

Greet applicants and visitors. Provide information regarding job openings. Copy, fax, email and distribute job applications.
Answer phones, take messages, provide employees with various forms as requested.
Enter employee data on computer and maintain employee files.
Use Microsoft Word and Excel to prepare labor contracts, spreadsheets, correspondences, postings, memos, etc.
Prepare orientation packets for new employees.
Handle written and telephone requests for verification of employment or other employee information.
Order and maintain adequate levels of supplies for the department.
Maintain bulletin boards.
Other duties as assigned.
