General Summary

$26.28 to $30.31 Per Hour (DOQ)

Under the direction of the Water Manager or designee, a Utility Craftsworker with the City of Richland's Water Maintenance division performs semi-skilled work in a variety of crafts toward the construction, maintenance, and repair of the City's water mains, service connections, valves, hydrants, and other facilities of a water system. This position is subject to after hours and weekend work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or GED.
One (1) year of experience in water maintenance, repair, or construction.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Valid driver's license with a Class "A" CDL by date of hire.
CDL tanker endorsement within 90 days of hire.
Valid Flaggers certification within six (6) months of hire date.
Must have current Washington State Water Distribution Manager I certification within 18 months of hire and obtain Washington State Water Distribution Manager II certification within one (1) year of eligibility to test.


Desirable Qualifications

Previous successful general underground construction experience, with a basic knowledge of digging/trench safety requirements, and procedures.
Class "A" CDL with Tanker endorsement.
Valid Flagger certification.
Washington State Distribution Manager I and II certifications.
Proficiency in a windows based computing environment and specifically work management systems.

Supplemental Information

Selection will be based on overall qualifications, skills testing, and an oral board interview. Final selection will be based on a comprehensive background/reference check and a pre-employment physical commensurate to the position, to include DOT drug/alcohol screening.

NOTE: THIS POSITION WILL BE POSTED INTERNALLY / EXTERNALLY CONCURRENTLY FOR A TOTAL OF TEN (10) WORKING DAYS. HOWEVER, ONLY QUALIFIED, REGULAR FULL-TIME IUOE MEMBERS WILL BE GIVEN FIRST CONSIDERATION IF THEY APPLY WITHIN THE FIRST FIVE (5) WORKING INTERNAL DAYS OF POSTING.
