Job Description:
Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of a Metalfab employee is to fabricate structural steel columns, beams stairways and railing.

Essential Functions:

Weld components in flat vertical and horizontal positions.

Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding process.

Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to welding.

Examine work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces with straight edges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. Weld out assemblies and check for weld conformance.

Comply with Metalfab's Health/Safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

Complete assigned work within given time frame and according to specifications.

Complete required paper work.

Complete house keeping task in assigned area or project area.


Must be able to read blueprints and layout steel.

Posses a solid understanding of welding equipment and processes.

Must be able to pass 1" horizontal flux core welding test.

Must be able to pass drug test.

Good verbal communication

Ability and willingness to follow directions as well as the ability to work independently.

WABO certified a plus.

Environmental Conditions:

Exposure to heat and cold.

Exposure to loud noises at times.

Physical demands:

This position requires the use of your hands, considerable use of your arms ,legs, and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, walking, bending and handling materials.

Climbing on ladders, using scaffolding, scissor lifts, may be required.

The use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, boots, gloves, hard hats, welding hoods, hearing protection.

Must be able to lift 50lbs without any physical restrictions.

This position is a 40hr a week position with occasional mandatory overtime.
