Catholic Charities provides a myriad of vital services in communities through its network of agencies: Catholic Charities, Catholic Charities Housing Services and the St. Vincent Centers.

Although rooted in a Catholic tradition that shapes its core mission of service to all, it exists within a pluralistic community. Perhaps as many as 85% of the agency's staff is non-Catholic, although that figure is not tracked. Similarly, the vast majority of those being served are not Catholic. Today, those continuing to write the history of the agency include a variety of people of good will, Catholic and non Catholic alike, who are called by many reasons to serve.

What you can expect as a Payment Poster Specialist....
Correct processing of payments and adjustments to client accounts. Complete duties accurately and timely while acting as a team player for optimum workflow and excellent patient account care. Relay accurate and timely information to management, staff and other identified end users. Work both independently and part of a team to monitor and complete expected data analysis and quality assurance assignments. Complete work in a timely, professional manner consistent to agency and department standards.
Review and interprets explanation of benefits (EOB) from insurance carriers to post appropriate payment and denial codes
Demonstrate knowledge of insurance payer guidelines and internal collection guidelines
Identify invoices with a secondary payer and takes the appropriate action to ensure they are sent to secondary carriers
Run and analyze balancing report to ensure accurate posting
Input zero payment vouchers and insurance rejections from all payer sources in a timely manner
Identify incomplete information necessary to post remittance and contact the necessary person to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data
Assist staff with payment and adjustment questions and conducts research if necessary
Post any manual payments that would not post electronically, ensuring allowances, adjustment and write-offs/write ups are posted correctly.
Process refunds and recoups within our EHR system
Run and analyze balancing report to ensure accurate posting
Answer and respond to external and internal phone calls in a timely manner.
Check and respond to emails in a timely and professional manner
Meet monthly close deadlines
Provide support to billing team as needed.
Continuous knowledge of CPT codes and each code description. Responsible to keep up-to-date with current insurance billing requirements and changes by reading payer newsletters, reviewing websites and other publications
Will participate in MCO meetings for data updates as needed
Will have knowledge of Service Encounter Reporting Instructions and will keep track of changes
Practice confidentiality consistent with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 in accordance of agency policy
Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements
What Catholic Charities expects from you....
Education
High School Diploma, Required
College Degree or Certificate of Completion (Computer Science, Behavioral Analytics, Finance, Accounting) - Preferred
Experience
2 years’ experience with EHR Systems (CareLogic QualiFacts experience preferred)
Knowledge of State Data requirements related to community Mental Health
3 years billing experience strongly encouraged (Physician Billing preferred)
Special Skills

Able to work independently or as part of a team
Knowledge of office practices and procedures
Detail oriented and able to multi-task
Computer word processing using Microsoft Office and Google Docs
Experienced with the use of standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, fax, phone, calculator, TTY, and/or other equipment found in work unit.
Maintain positive, team-oriented service attitude toward clients and staff.
The ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills.
Licenses, Registration, Or Certification:
Valid Washington State Driver’s License and agency required minimum liability insurance
