Performs duties of an Instrument and Controls Engineer supporting software modifications, testing, routine maintenance activities, troubleshooting, system design improvements, Engineering Change Notices, material procurement, procedure reviews, etc. as assigned by manager. Provide technical and programmatic leadership in support of Process & Control System (P&CS) Engineering, which includes coordination of activities with multiple internal and external entities, performing technical and cost/benefits evaluations, and developing task plans and schedules. Implement activities to ensure the functionality of process, design, business, and security related industrial control systems.
Conduct complex fault and design analyses, failure evaluation and resolution, and monitor trending data for assigned system.
Draft operating procedures including preventative and routine service schedules.
Provide technical direction for internal and external parties and perform technical review of work packages to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Recommend changes to system design and draft policy regarding system design and upgrade efforts.
Lead small to moderate sized projects by establishing tasks, priorities, milestones, cost estimates, and schedules, and communicating the status to the project manager and customer.
Support development of strategic plan and policies for implementation of industrial control systems and automation.
Develop test criteria and conduct functional testing of on-line, off-line, and new industrial control systems.
Identify, evaluate, and expedite procurement of industrial control systems, components, and peripherals.
Draft Statements of Work for service agreements and vendor support.
Provide technical guidance and leadership to lower level employees.

BS degree in Electrical Engineering or other related technical degree and 7 years related experience.
Familiar with nuclear application with emphasis on instruments and controls, and a knowledge of current development and trends and be able to interpret IEEE Standards, NFPA Requirements.
Familiar with process and control system platforms including modification to the control system hardware and software, communications systems (including wireless), and development and testing systems.
Control systems testing experience, including preparation of test procedures and completion of test reports.
Working knowledge of developing safety instrumented systems and application of ANSI/ISA-84 is desirable.
Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC and/or ABB 800xA control system platform is desirable.
