Job Description:
We are one of the nation's fastest growing medication assisted treatment clinics serving close to 10,000 patients nationwide. We are currently looking for a highly-motivated Medical Biller to join in supporting our efforts across the country. Individual must have a least one year experience in medical billing.

ROLE: Medical Biller I

Purpose of position: To help assist in the revenue cycle functions within the billing department.

Essential functions: The following functions have been determined by Ideal Option to be essential to the successful performance of this position which includes but is not limited to:

Works directly with the insurance companies, healthcare providers and patients to get a claim processed and paid.
Reviews and appealing unpaid and denied claims.
Answers patients’ billing questions.
Process patient and insurance refund requests in a timely manner. Posts payments and/or denials from insurance remits.
Assists patients in getting the correct information to order to apply for charity/Medicaid or a payment plan.
Uses coded data to produce and sub claims to insurance companies.
Assists any other biller in the department with their job functions.
Makes recommendations to the Billing and Coding Manager for process and quality improvement.
Identifies revenue cycle issues via the billing process.
Maintains knowledge of current billing rules and trends for billing types assigned by attending seminars, workshops and watching webinars. Complies with all elements within HIPAA and the Privacy Act.
Works cooperatively with others as part of the Ideal Option team
Ability to sit long periods of time and work at a computer
Maintains good work habits, attendance and punctuality

Effective communication skills verbal and written
A knowledge of chemical dependency and its effects on individuals, families, and communities
Strong computer skills
Strong vocabulary, spelling, and punctuation

Minimum requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
A minimum of one-year experience with medical billing.
