Kadlec Clinic has an exciting opportunity for a Certified Coder Level II to join our growing Clinic Coding team located in Richland, Washington!
Shift Details : Full Time, 1.0. Day shifts.
GED or High School Diploma from an accredited educational institution required.
Three years related experience and/or training required.
Current CPC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, and/or RHIA through AAPC or AHIMA required.
5 years of recent related experience preferred.
Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills preferred.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As a Certified Coder II you will analyzes, codes, and compiles medical records to document patient condition and treatment in Family Practice, Specialty Practice, Hospital and ASC settings. The Clinic - Coder, Certified – Level II will audit Provider documentation and provide feedback.
Reviews and analyzes content of current medical record of patients to identify diagnoses and procedures performed according to Department and Coding Guidelines.
Assigns appropriate codes to outpatient and inpatient visits using the International Classification of Disease system (ICD-10-CM) Healthcare Common Procedure Coding (HCPC) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT-4) per payer guidelines.
Requests clarification from the physician or provider for unclear diagnoses and procedures, utilizing appropriate process.
Provides training in coding and compliance issues as needed.
Provides peers, Compliance, KC Business Office leadership, Clinic Managers with regulatory or coding updates with respect to diagnostic, procedural and supply code changes and applies regulatory and/or coding updates accordingly.
