Works as a journeyman Powerplant Electrician in the testing, inspection, maintenance, and repair of hydroelectric power plant, dam, and intake structure equipment.
Inspects, tests, repairs, adjusts, tunes, and calibrates instruments, meters, relays, gauges, carrier units, control systems, transformers, motors, and switch gear apparatus.
Troubleshoots, makes repairs, and adjusts equipment common to hydroelectric power plants.
Assists in testing, repairing, and calibrating electrical test equipment and in the installation, relocation, and modification of control circuits.
Uses manufacturers' catalogs, drawings, and wiring diagrams in preparing requisitions.
Safely uses and maintains tools and equipment and conducts work in a safe manner that includes using lockout/tagout and Job Hazard Analysis procedures.

Travel Required:
Occasional travel - Occasional travel to meetings and training may be required. Frequent travel between work sites is usual.
